Sightseeing

Duomo
«Lombard» gothic cathedral (XIV-XV century and onward).

The Duomo boasts over seven centuries of history. Commenced in 1386 and completed only in the 20th century, it is an unmissable stop in your Milanese staying: its imposing presence and sheer beauty are impossible to ignore.

It is almost impossible to believe it, but the Duomo features about 3,400 statues! Designed and carved throughout the centuries, they portray a vast range of biblical and historical figures, gargoyles, animals, little monsters, dragons, faces, and puzzling silhouettes.

Bosco verticale
Peculiarity of these buildings, both of which were inaugurated in 2014, is the presence of more than 2,000 tree species, including shrubs and tall trees, distributed on the elevations. This is an ambitious metropolitan reforestation project that, through the vertical densification of greenery, aims to increase plant and animal biodiversity in the Lombard capital, reducing urban sprawl and also contributing to microclimate mitigation. The Bosco verticale was awarded the Best Tall Building Worldwide in 2015.

Teatro alla Scala
One of the leading opera and ballet theatres globally. During the convention days, la Scala will be hosting the opera “La Rondine”, composed by G. Puccini. For tickets and times, see more information here.

Navigli district
The neighborhood that excels in the art of aperitivo ! Colourful bars and restaurants, facing the old canals , will welcome you to enjoy a spritz (and some food, for free!) at sunset.
